Two Shootings in One Day

On February 3, a gunman attacked a Greyhound bus in California. The shooter killed one person and injured another five before the passengers overcame him. The passengers then provided first aid for those who were injured. Authorities have not released a motive for the suspect. On that same day, a shooting occurred at Texas A&M University. The shooting happened in the residence hall, killing two women and leaving a 2-year-old child injured. Police have not released any information about suspects or motives. (CNN)

President Trump Acquitted

On February 5, President Trump was acquitted on both articles of impeachment. One article was abuse of power and the other was obstruction of Congress. President Trump is still considered impeached by the House, but acquitted by the Senate. On February 8, President Trump fired Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, who testified against him at the trial, for “insubordination.” (CNN)

First American Dies of Coronavirus

On February 8, the first American citizen died of the coronavirus in Wuhan. The death was announced hours after two flights evacuated US citizens from Wuhan. This is the first American to die from the virus that has killed hundreds in China. (CNN)

On February 14, three people were shot outside an Atlanta restaurant owned by Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss. Burruss was there when a gunman shot one person in the restaurant and then two people outside before running away.
